Jawed Naqvi pleads for a case of a fair trial to Qasab saying capital sentence cannot stop an ideology and it denies the opportunity to understand and address the issue behind the mindset.

Fair enough. But at the risk of ignoring the debate of capital sentence, it is a point to consider where and how can more humane approaches of understanding and changing the mindset of a ‘suicidal religious fanatic’ work? Will it be different for a Hindu, Muslim, Jew or Christian?

The court room is a place which only deals with proof and cold facts, not ideology.
